Shaping the future of Italian lighting
Since launching in Milan in 1993, NEMO has mastered the art of creating contemporary lights that evoke the spirit of modernist Italian design. Classic chandeliers are reimagined as cascading methacrylate sculptures, while candelabras are transformed into LED conversation pieces. Even its most contemporary standouts, such as the Uma Chandelier by Giancarlo Tintori, recall the era of artisanal craftsmanship.
Designed with transparent metacrylate tubes, the Uma Chandelier provides widespread light.
As Cassina’s lighting division, NEMO has become the benchmark for high-end luminaires, all while working alongside globally renowned designers such as Jehs & Laub, Karim Rashid, Carlo Forcolini, Ilaria Marelli, and Hannes Wettstein. Following several successful releases, NEMO added new designs to its Masters Collection including the iconic Projecteur 365 by Le Corbusier, which won a Wallpaper Design Award for Best Reprint in 2013. NEMO’s TRU lamp by Roberto Paoli and the Giò lamp by Angeletti Ruzza were both selected for the prestigious ADI Design Index, the Compasso d’Oro.
The Wallpaper Design Award-winning Projecteur 365 is available in floor, wall, ceiling, and pendant configurations.
Today, NEMO’s catalogue is peppered with modern classics, such as the Crown collection, Jehs + Laub’s modern interpretation of an old-fashioned candle chandelier. Inspired by the intricate shape of snowflake, the geometric pendant lights are available in variety of versions and finishes, allowing them to be customized to suit any dining room, lounge, or lobby.
A Leader in LED Lighting
Spearheading LED movement, NEMO’s latest collections blend new materials with the tenets of high-quality lighting. Akihito Miyake’s In The Wind collection features organic yet symmetrical curves composed of die-casted aluminum and opal methacrylate diffusers. A meticulous torsion process results in 360 degress of illumination and an exquisite double helix structure appreciated from all angles – whether suspended vertically or horizontally, or used as a floor lamp.
The versatility extends to NEMO’s more streamlined options including Tubes, a family of pendant, wall, and ceiling lamps composed of cylindrical elements in extruded aluminum. An opal polycarbonate lens ensures the light is diffused, warm and uniform.
Through its minimalist contemporary lighting solutions and intricate abstract chandeliers, NEMO finds cohesion in its unyielding dedication to innovation. With the flick of switch, viewers are transported to a new dimension, where iconic Italian design and global vision coalesce.
